Isobel
Isobel uses porcelain to represent the complexity and unity of the natural order. Being hand-crafted, none of her component pieces are regular or uniform: like natural textiles, individual leaves or raindrops they are unique, fragile and independent of one another, not always perfect.

LUCAS
My work is a celebration of irregularities. I start with simple shapes which are repeated thousands of times, revealing subtle textures when put together cohesively. I like to think of my handcrafted fragments as building blocks so that I can alter the rhythm of an assembly depending on how I feel. In this sense, my work is more organic and spontaneous rather than rational and cerebral.

JOSEPH
‘I interpret landscapes through exploration of material. I focus on rugged coastlines, looking at erosion as a spectacle of discovery and generation of form, revealing a sense of the history and movement of a place. The work is produced using my ‘Lost Ice Process.’ I use salt to sculpt ice as a one-off ephemeral model to take a direct cast from. The textures this provides and the transient nature of the creative process reflects the erosion and sense of time I want to represent in the landscape.

DAMJAN
Damjan uses traditional hand tools, such as the chisel on stone that leaves a unique trail, reflective of the sculptor’s strength and artistic thoughts. He also works with white marble, preferring to sand the marble over a perfectly polished look, leaving the surface soft, flowing and undulating. As well as stone and marble, he works in the classic materials of bronze, wood and ceramics.

JULIE
Julie has taken inspiration for her work from the fragile edges of waves breaking onto the coastline. Strong and destructive waves are the primary shapers of the coastline and usually occur in the winter when the sea is cold and grey, intermingled with blues. These colours are reflected within her final outcomes. Her work also explores the senses, especially touch, sight and sound. Physical touch is the fundamental element of human development and culture and she enjoys watching people’s reactions when they touch her work.

PHILIP
Working predominantly in metals, I create an eclectic range of sculpture and contemporary furniture.
Highly aesthetic in nature, you will find much of my work curvaceous and tactile. There is often a coarseness that comes from working with bare metals, but also the variety that comes from experimenting with surface texture and finishes.
My style ranges from figurative to abstract, but I would describe the majority of my sculptures as 'abstract representational'. Much of my work endeavors to capture movement, with a desire to create forms that are also presented aesthetically through the negative spaces they create.

THOMAS
Thomas follows a passion for creating form based abstract sculpture which responds to aesthetics and fractals within nature. Exploring such principles as Fibonacci led to an understanding that the stunningly beautiful yet often simple laws that nature follow, result in what could most closely be described as perfection within our environment and are synonymous with aesthetic beauty, balance and perfection.

Andy
Andrew has bestowed upon us a breathtaking series of altered books. Some of you may be familiar with the classic Observer’s Book of series, maybe as a result of rifling through the dustier shelves in shops or at home... or perhaps you are just old.
Each book is a completely unique hand-cut artwork. Malone cuts around the outline of every illustration (unless they are on both sides of a page, in which case one gets dissected in the process).

It was here that she fell in love with working with leather. The way it can be cut, woven or folded into 3D shapes, while still remaining soft and tactile provides her imagination with endless opportunities and allows her to create wholly original pieces of leather art.

Adrien
I first became interested in working with clay after doing an evening class back in 2000. Before this I had worked in graphics for 20 years, but had become disenchanted with a lack of self expression and creative freedom.
